Recently ago I was asked by my computer science teacher to help maintain the Linux server we use for our webserver.... too bad I know next to nothing about Linux (except that it kicks windoze @$$!! And I do know basic file navigation stuff...) Anyways we had to move the server from our old lab to a new one... unfortunately now we can't get internet running on it since nobody knows Linux, except my brother who ran it but graduated. Thats just one problem which I'll probably be able to fix with a few NHF's, but I was more wondering where I could get a "patch" or whatever it is, against the code red virus for this server (Do I even really need it? Well my teacher seems to think so...) Any help would be appreciated...

P.S. If you guys have any advice for me on learning Linux it would be well appreciated. And before you ask, I don't know anything about the system stats except that there is no KDE/Gnome or whatever you call it.

Your teacher is wrong. CodeRed attacks NT based systems it will not affect linux boxen.

actually it attacks certain versions of IIS (internet information server) which can be found in w2k for example ,but can also be found on some cisco routers as well
