Okay, I have an idea as to what the problem may be regarding the 'PPP died unexpectedly dilemma'
I get the same problem with the following flavors of Linux:
SuSE 7.0
RedHat 7.0
RedHat 6.2
Mandrake 7.2
I am convinced beyond any reason of doubt that the problem is not Linux, PPPD, or KPPP.
I believe that it's probably an issue specific with my ISP and that KPPP is simply starting PPPD too *soon*.
So, to test this theory I want to perform a script based logon via KPPP. The new challenge that I am facing now is in regards to the 'expect' commands in the script... I don't have a clue as to what to expect (no pun intended) http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
If I do a terminal based login all I see is garbage characters after the initial connection is made.
How do I determine the 'expect' parameters for a PAP based connection?
Once I know this I may (hopefully) have this cat bagged.
BTW... my apologies for griping earlier in my other post... I was frustrated and really *needed* to vent. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif
Thanks,
-Bruce
