this happedn in Windows, too, but not all the time.

i started up AbiWord, and began to do my biology homework. I was writing away, no care in the world, when i noticed a mistake. So i go back, click, and start typing to correct my error. I knotice that the "new " text that i'm typing is going over the one priveously writen. AbiWord is the only programme taht does that.

Another ting, how do i mount my cd drives?

thnx for you help.

You should be able to hit the insert button to toggle insert/writeover.

During installation, Linux should have set up your system to mount your CD. From a terminal, try the command mount /mnt/cdrom . If it doesn't give an error, then it's mounted. Look in the /mnt/cdrom directory to see what's on the disc.
