Setting up a simple PPP with mandrake

I'm a newbie and I have a mandrake 7.1.
I also use kppp, but after handshaking with server I get error message "ppp died" - and in details it says :"can't retrieve configuration info" , but out of my several dial-up connections only one of them works !
they are maybe NT servers but I have no domain addresses or something like that.
what should I do ?

Do you have the DNS numbers for the servers you are dialing into? If you are running windoze, you can go to run and type in winipcfg and get the info.
Also check the NHF files here for info.
If you do not have windows, you will have to call the ISP and ask for the DNS numbers of their name servers. There are a couple of other things to check, but I can not remember them right now. All of my notes are at home in my notebook.
