Hi people,

My problem is that, even though I'm executing the installation from the CDROM, after the selection of the language, it tells me:
"The Red Hat Linux was not found in any of your CDROM drives"

On another shell (3), i can read: "trying to mount device hdd",
And on another (4), i get several lines:
"end_request: I/O error, dev 16:40 (hdd), sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 16:40 (hdd), sector 64
isofs_read_super: bread failed, dev=16:40, iso_blk_num=16, block=32
end_request: I/O error, dev 16:40 (hdd), sector 0"

You may think the CDROM is damage, but I tryed the network installation, and had no problem. But I would still like to know what is wrong!!!!

I tryed to change some settings on my BIOS, and that power management was already turned of...

My problem is that RedHat 5 gives me no problem!!!! With RedHat 6.2 the problem persists!!!!

My BIOS is an Award Modular v4.51PG, and I'm using a Cyrix processor, with 48MB RAM.

Hope someone can help me!!!

Regards,

A. Jorge

Yeah, my first impression is that you have a bunk CD-ROM or ISO image. How did the md5sum check go?

Now, after seeing this, I have reservations about the quantity of memory you have installed. Are you attempting the graphics-based installation routine?

Yes I'd like to use the Graphic installation, but the problem is that I don't even get to that point!!!!

After selecting the language installation, still in text mode, I get that great message saying that RedHat can't be found on the CD-ROM...

Like I said, I had a succssesfull installation using that same CD on another computer (with another CD-ROM) on a NFS Installation...

The only problem seems to be that Linux is unable to mount that CD on that CD-ROM...
