Error opening security policy file.

Using Partition Magic, I split my drive in half. I left Windows 98 on one side and designated the other for Linux.

I downloaded Mandrake 8.2 off the internet onto two disk. I installed on my home machine and everything is working wonderfully. I had no trouble with the install. A second install on my work computer is giving trouble. Well into the install, the screen goes black and I get the following messages:

couldn't open rgb_db' /usr/x11r6/11b/x11/rgb'

error opening security policy file /usr/x11r6/11b/x11/xserver/securitypolicy

Glib-warning**: getpwvid_r ( ): failed due to: no such user 0.

I'm not sure if I have the spaces and cases correct in the above as I wrote it down and drove home to use my computer there. I've tried to install 3 times and the result has been the same.

Can someone please give me advice?

Does anyone have an idea of what's happening when this occurs during install?

Just to close this one out, (which, I should have done sooner, but forgot),I used partition magic to change the partition to a Fat32, which erased the bad intallation. I then changed the partition back, started over again and did not run into the problem again.
