Hey gang!
I just installed Slack on a spare partition and have a couple of questions.
I didn't install lilo but do have a working boot floppy.
But now I want to install lilo on the / directory. How do I do it?
Second, I boot up to the graphical login. The problem is, it shows only the root icon. I added users in a terminal the usual way but, when I reboot, only root is there. I can log in as a regular user by typing it in (fine with me) but was wondering why no nice little eye-candy icon? Can I get one there?
Honestly, it doesn't matter to me (performance wise)... I just figure this is one more little quirk that, if solved, will be adding to my linux education.
Thanks for the assistance!

For your lilo, you will need to create a lilo.conf file, and then run lilo.

Try running liloconfig as root.

Thanks.
I though about manually creating an /etc/lilo.conf myself but wondered if there is a better way. Thanks!

did you run liloconfig as ph34r suggested?

what login manager are you using? kdm, xdm, gdm?

No, I haven't yet.
I believe it's xdm.
I'll try some more tonight when I get home from work.
