Is there a good, simple on-line resource which will provide a general overview of the way things are laid out in LINUX ?
That is, I know Windows. I know where the startup files are, where the core windows libraries are, where the desktop items can be found, where documents are usually saved, where programs usually install, where the items in the "start" menu can be found, how to create shortcuts, the fact that programs end with .exe or .com, that programs are usually installed by "setup" or "install" applications, and many other simple organizational things about Windows.
But I'm not trying to learn Windows, I'm trying to learn LINUX. So I want to know such seemingly common facts about how it is organized.
Anyone have a good sugestion?
