I have a DSL connenction to the net abd my ISP requires me to use a 3rd party program to connect to the net and unfortunatley they only support win32 and mac-os. For linux I got a program called raging penguin pppoe (rp-pppoe). I managed to get the program to connect after I install it but when I reboot I cant connect. The install guide tells me I cant assign an IP or have the card "activate" on boot (which I dont belive I have. I used netconfig to set uo the card and have it install the correct module. Any idea what im doing wrong or what I should enter on netconfig for the card module to be loaded but not have the card try to connect on boot? Im useing slack 8.1 and my ISP uses DNS for connecting. When I used the conection in mandrake all I did was enter the domain name (sympatico.ca) and my DNS numbers. Im not really sure what to do to get it to stay connected when I reboot -any help is greatly appeciated.
