when loading LINUX (red hat 7) i get an error with the eth0 loading...
it says "initialization halted" then in red..it says "failed" when it should say ok
does this mean the card is installed but just not running?
thanks

is your network information correct? and do you have your card configured correctly?
i had this prob for a while, but i can't remember exactly how to fix it. open a terminal and type linuxconf. set up your network and card in there, that should fix it.

That error probably means that you haven't configured your card correctly. Most likly you are using the wrong driver.
Another possibility is that you don't have a network card and are trying to load one ;)

Although RH7 may already have the correct driver for the Linksys LNE100TX, you could still try the NHF.

I don't need to mention about the PnP OS do it?

seems like we should mention 'ifconfig' here. That'll give you an idea of how your card is configured, if it's configured. It'll also tell you if it's running, what IP it's using, etc.
If you don't see an 'eth0' listing there, you may have the wrong driver. The NHF above is good - PS - I think RH 7 was the last version to have a problem with that particular card. 7.1 fixed it, and Mandrake 8 works fine with it too (read my mandrake 8 review at my site Linuxlaboratory.org (http://www.linuxlaboratory.org/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=2).
However, the NHF mdwatts noted is good too. I still like 7.1 a lot better though. :)
