oh my god i'm so happy. i've been screwing with this thing for 2 weeks trying to get my nic card to work and i finally did. i had to switch from redhat 6.2 to mandrake 7.2 to do it but hey, i'm here and i'm tying this from my linux drive! yay!

(to get it to work i had to use the configuration program for my SMC 1660 card to set the irq to 3 and the i/o to 300. then i had to set linux to those settings as well and bingo! hey it took me a long time to get here...i just couldn't do it in redhat, but i got it to work in mandrake).

Installed 7.2 today, and lo and behold, it setup my PPPoE/ADSL connection without a problem. Whahoooo! I had it up and running pretty easily in Drake 7.0, but I really liked how 7.2 installed the rp-pppoe stuff for me. Is KDE2 flaky on your system, or am I alone in frequent crashes?

well i haven't had it all out crash, but a couple of times when i was changing the background picture i got a message about something in the background crashing...can't remember what it was...but i've only had it up for a few hours so i haven't had much time to really try it out.

KDE 2.0.1 is out. Upgrade and see if it fixes most of your crash problems.

Congratulations. Isn't it great when you're getting sick of your internet connection not working and then you try it again and you see the modem indication lights flashing and LNO load up?
