whenever i try and burn a cd, with koncd its pops up an error "cannot start cdrdao"
how do i fix this?

I'd start with seeing if cdrdao was actually on the system. As root...

updatedb
locate cdrdao

If it finds it...

ls /wherever_it_is/cdrdao

to see who owns it and what permissions are set.

its not there, what package can i install that will install everything needed for cd burning? rh7.3

cdrdao from rpmfind.net (http://www.rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/redhat/7.3/i386/cdrdao-1.1.5-5.i386.html) That should be what your looking for ;)
