I have a Gateway GP6-400 system with a 3DFX Voodoo Banshee AGP Accelerator card. I have decided to install both Windows ME and Redhat Linux 7.1 on my harddrive. Installation went according to plan with one irritation. My display is really jacked up in Linux but not with the WME OS. I have reinstalled Linux several times now thinking I did not configure something right. The problem I'm getting is a when I go into GNOME and try to access the menu bar options, the menu extends like it should but only the icons are displayed, no text associated with those icons. Same goes for some of the other text boxes that appear. When I got thru configuring in X configurator and it tested my screen, the following screen was horrible. It looks very weird like to squiggling lines down the sides of the screen. There is no problem with WME display. Is there something I'm missing or didn't install? X configurator said that it recognized the video card but it seems to be missing something. Please help. Thanks.
