In LinNeighborhood, when you expand the Samba server, you see the share ADMIN$ folder drop down...as well as any other shares one might have created.....

I want to know why Windows shares don't appear to drop down beneath(why the windows box doesn't expand shares) from the windows box in LinNeighborhood....I want to know how to do this if there is a way....I do indeed have several folders shared out from the windows box...why aren't they appearing as shares in LinNeighborhood??

I know how to mount the shares on the windows box in LinNeighborhood.....because I know the share name of the folders I shared out.....but thats kinda cheating...I want to actually see the windows folder share appear beaneth the windows box in LinNeighborhood......

Thanks

Even if you are logged in as a non-root user, you can right click on a Windows machine in the browse list in LinNeighborhood and select scan as user. It will prompt you for a username and password, you will then see the shares on the machine.
You can also select in the LinNeighborhood preferences to "always scan as user". Then when you double click on a machine, it will open up and show the shares.
If you also select "prompt for password once", it will only prompt you for your password on the first machine you look at.
