real player 8 problems

running mandrake 8

ok ive downloaded the .bin file of real player 8

ive done chmod +x rp8.bin
then ./rp8.bin
then installed it to /home/sai_cha/realplayer8
but for some reason when i go to that directory i can not find the folder...

also how do i run it from a terminal?

for example i have AOL instal mesenger...and all i have to do is type "aim" and the window pops up...does real player have a similar command like that..thanks!

all i did was after i downloaded the bin file (exe in windows)
./rp8------.bin (full file name

and it installed it fine

i think it installs it to
/usr/local/reaplayer

or something similar

go look and ye shall find

The command to run it after installation is realplay

if i type ./rp8.bin (thats what i renamed it..the other name too dam long)
it asks to reinstall real player :confused: :confused:

oops

dont rename it

start typing in the name in console and press <tab>
it will complete the name for you

so its like thi

./rp8<tab>
you should then see the completed filename in the command

it will then install as normal

what ive done in kde is create a link to the app on the desktop, and use the .xpm file as an icon

job done.
