on the disk in one of the x folders is a file named xfig or xconf or something that has the
xf86 config programs.XF86Setup is part of that package i believe. You also need to install the VGA16 server for XF86Setup to work. This assumes you didnt install the frame buffer option http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

I just got slack 7.0 running on my notebook (thanks ph34r). I beleive I installed everyting I need to run the X server but I'm getting some error message that will not let me in. Being a RedHat native I tried running XF86Setup and XF86Config but neither seen to exist. Is there any program that will do what either of these do?

Just to note... if you want to run xf86config, you need to type it in all-lower-case...
xf86config

I know XF86Setup is typed like it is with upper-case characters but not the other.
Maybe that will help.

Your probably right, I didn't try it in all lower case. Forgive me, I've got a week old newborn at home and my mind is a bit fried so it's a wonder that I even got Slack on the computer.
