Hi guys, say I have a HUGE problem, and it's pissing me off: I have a new laptop with an ethernet card in it. And I can't get it to ping another computer, but it can ping itself. Here are the details:
-Bought laptop with NIC
-Booted in Win95 to see if NIC worked
-NIC worked, I could go on the web
-Install Debian 2.2r3
-Edited /etc/hosts /etc/resolv.conf /etc/network/interfaces
-ifup eth0 (no error message)
-Tried to ping gateway (192.168.1.1): host unreachable
-Tried to ping self (192.168.1.9): No problem
The card is a 3Com Etherfast III Lan Card (module 3c589_cs)
Anyoen can help?
