nautilus 2

I have a couple questions about nautilus 2 for anyone who might know....

1-There is no longer an option for a news panel? I found that to be an incrediably nice feature before. What gives?

2-How come when I change the backround image behind the folders and the tabs, it only changes for the current location in the filesystem? Can I change them all at once instead of one at a time?

try konqueror. it should work on gnome. much faster although it may not have all the cool menus.
Or maybe stop using gnome all together and switch to kde. I used to use Gnome but the newer versions are slow. I must admit kde 1.x was a satanic work, kde 2.x and 3.x are not.
