Hi
I am trying to install Linux 6.1 from Red hat, all goes well untill it starts to install packages then it just sits there doing nothing, cant go back can't go forward have to press reset,
Can any body help

Have you tried cleaning the cd's they might be dirty and you could clean the CDRom drive also. What about your cpu fan, is it working? If you are using GUI install then try a text install instead.

Actually, I've noticed that some combinations of distro and pc have really long pauses during packages install. I've had mandrake tell me that it was going to take 3 hours 46 minutes to complete, but it actually just took a long pause and then sped up suddenly. You might just need to be more patient.
Lycoris does seem to hang though, permanently.

I have tried waiting I will wait longer when trying again,
I thought I would try to install on my sony notebook and it went on no trouble at all so it the pc thats holding things up.
Thanks everyone I will keep trying as I am keen to try this out on my desktop.
