Howdy folks,

I was about to install Mandrake on a machine at work from a couple of CDs that I burned last night. My problem is that They are not written in ISO9660, I forgot to change it when I burned them. Now I have the two install disks just sitting here with big fatty ISO files on them. Is there any to read the iso's contents and still install or am I up that proverbial creek without a paddle? :(

thanks in advance for any suggestions.

well,
you could mount the iso images and try to do a hard drive install. that s tha only way i can think of, this would be pretty tricky though...

the only way i can get a HD install to work is if i uncompress the iso's to form 1 drectory "linux"

make a boot disk using the HD image then boot and point it to the file location . hope this helps

Thanks guys, I didn't think of that! :)

One question though...you said to uncompress the iso image. I'm not familiar with how to do that, could you give me a hint as where to start from?

Thanks for the great suggestion!

sigh Okay, for some reason I am now having probs writing the images to disk and I'm guessing it's because I'm on a FAT32 partition running Me. Each time I try rawriting the image (the windows version doesn't work btw) it tells me that sector 1 is bad. and suggestion?

I can't even write the image disks from the existing linux partition that is on the drive! I just shows some crazy ascii character then 'Boot Failed'.

Unless someone has an idea I'll just throw in the towel until I can make the cds bootable.

Thanks for all the help on the other questions!
