I upgraded to 2.4 and everything is way faster and to say the least, it shweeeet! Anyway, my only problem is that when I try to run UT or the Glide tests, it says that it can't access the V3/Banshee Board. Why oh why does it say this? With the 2.4 test kernels, the module would seg fault when loaded, but now it doesn't, but i still cannot play my Unreal Tournament! What could be causing this?

Anyone else have a V3 with the new kernel?

Yes. I have a Voodoo3 3000 with linux 2.4.0 and XFree86 4.0.2

Works great.

But I'm not running UT (yet), only Quake3.

Make sure you added in Voodoo3 DRI support when you compiled the kernel. And if your running XFree86 4.0.*, and you can't get acceleration working, you may want to check out this page.

I don't even have XFree86 4.0, i am on 3.3.6 and am trying to use the normal reference drivers and glide to play UT. It is my understanding that the dri drivers only work with Quake III and other games that use Mesa and that you need the reference drivers to play UT.

it will most likely. the only reason that my voodoo3 stopped working was because of a bug in the driver.
