Hi everybody
I have intentions of setting up a firewall on my old pentium 133 computer with a 2G hardrive.
I've heard that some distros are "better" than others when it comes to firewalling - anybody got at suggestion??
I am aware that virtually any linux distro is capable of acting as a firewall but since my computer is old i am only interested in that specific feature i was hoping to get some hints to wich to choose..

IMHO, Debian or Slackware would be more than suitable for that purpose on that hardware.

thanks for the advice.

i've now installed debian 2.2.15 - but it seems i have to recompile the kernel in order to get the firewall up and running.. and i cant figure out how to do that..

With Debian it is easier than with any other distro. There is an NHF for doing it generally but this is how to do it with debian

If you just want a good firewall up and running in 10 minutes, get a copy of SmoothWall (http://www.smoothwall.org) which is a small (~20 Meg) distro designed for firewalling/routing only (and what an excellent job it does).

Cheers :)
