Upgrading XFree86 to 4.1.0

I have RH7.1 with X 4.0.2. Should I unistall all the rpms associated with X before I upgrade to the newest version? Also, which is better: installing the binaries or compiling from source? Thanks for your reply! :D

its better to compile from source because it is made for YOUR system. If you choose rpms use "rpm -Uvh <filename>". Hope that helps. ;)
