When I compiled my linksys driver after extrating netdrivers.tgz that came with the disk it gave me a bunch of warnings such as:
/tmp/ccSqTEg.s: Assembler messages:
/tmp/ccSqTEg.s:80: WArning: Ignoring changed section attributes for .modinfo
make: warning: Clock Skew detected. Your build maybe incomplete

This worries me because when I tried installing the modules it was fine and when I ran ifup eth0 it said DHCP failed...I thought maybe they were related? Anyhelp would be nice thanks.

I got that first warning (the .modinfo one) as well - I think it's to be expected, personally. The second one is weird, but I don't think it has anything to do with the module itself. I think your problem is with DHCP.

I agree. I get warnings on compile too.

I received the warnings myself... looks like everyone went out and bought the Linksys "Network in a box" http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif When I try to:
#ifup eth0

it tells me the usage as:
ifup <device>

I think I have to tell Linux that I need to install the networking package but I'm not sure how you go about doing that. How do you go back (after installation) and reconfig Linux? BTW, using Mandrake 7.2
