I'm going to move my wife over to Linux by buying her a laptop/notebook.

Is there any good feedback on which laptops make good platforms for Mandrake?

Thanks!

This is just a personal opinion, but I like the Dell Laptops (Latitude, not too fond of the Inspiron series) for Linux.

You've loaded Linux with no real compatibility problems then?

I have an Inspiron 8200 with a GeForce2Go video card. There's a ton of documentation out there on loading Linux. I loaded RH 7.3 with no problems and have been able to configure anything I've needed to. Check out this site for information on Linux on any laptops.

I've ran 8.1 on a Dell Latitude, and an HP Omnibook 4100 with 0 problems. Other than that I can't offer too much input, but just remember, for every problem you encounter there is a solution.
