Now that I have acpi enabled in the kernel on my laptop, I was wondering if there were any example /etc/acpi/events scripts available from anyone. The one provided with acpid only handles powering down when the power button is pressed.
The documentation in places seems lacking, and in others can be way too heavy. ACPI reports on startup it has found three throttling states on my Mobile AthlonXP processor, but does it use these automagically?
Also, are there any decent battery monitors around that actually indicate how much charge is left in the battery?? I've only seen battery monitors that can tell if the laptop is on battery power or the mains.
