i'm thinking of running two os at a time.. XP and RH Linux 7.2.. i have 40 gb hardisk partitioned (C)10 (D)10 (E)20 respectively.. currently.. do i have to install winxp in C and linux in D? can i format C:.. then i install xp in it first.. then repartition the c drive so that i can install linux on the newly partitioned disk,, maybe.. i'll divide it into 5gb each.. is it possible ?

Decide how much space you want for windows and create two partitions. Make the first (c:) NTFS and the second (d:) FAT32. Leave the rest of the hard drive unpartitioned since the installer can create the linux partitions. linux doesn't use drive letter desiginations for devices. You might want to read the NHF on filesystems to become fimilar with the way linux does things.

Its best to install XP first then install linux.
