Hi, I have had bad experiences with partitioning and so, rather than wiping windoze (for the fam) again, I decided to use the partitionless install, which just installs on the MSDOS/WINDOWS partition. I have 2 questions. Is there any way to get it to run faster? And my other question is, how can I get my windows files in linux, if they are on the same drive? I don't think mounting them regularly will work. I've tried using linuxconf and it game me something about /hda1 already mounted, which it is. Any help would be much, MUCH appreciated.

Mounting the drive the partition with the windows files does work and even though you did a "partitionless install" windows will show up as a seperet partition

could you tell me how to do this then? Or what command to use in an X-teminal ? I mean it didn't help to say "it works"!
Thanx

Is there anyone out there who can REALLY help? Like for instance, give me some concrete directions, or advice? I'm all out of ideas.

I never tried any of the linux versions that could install to a windows partition. From what I have heard, they all seem to run slow.
I'll take a stab at your accessing the windows files. Run the command mount. See where it says that the windows partition ( /dev/hda1 ) is mounted. Then try the command ls /mount_point_here and see if the root contents of the windows partition is listed. /mount_point_here means to enter in the mount point that the mount commmand lists.
