Did you have a question in there or just bragging?

Oh, saw your sound card question. Check creative.com to make sure. It should, they're one hardware company that is really supportive of open source.

The DVD drive should work. Make sure you load IDE-SCSI support at boot and you have it compiled in your kernel or as a module.

Case fan will work with any OS, or no OS at all.

I think there are drivers out there for the audigy now, but I wouldn't expect it to be detected by your distro.

I have the exact same card in my box that you do & I have had good luck with mandrake 8.2 & red had 7.4 null the sound card worked fine with both distro's md did'nt detect it at first but ehrn I booted into md I was able to play auido cd's, redhat 7.4 null autodetected my card during setup :) I would try either mandrake suse or redhat these distro's come with installers that are eaiser then windows (in my humble opnion ):D

hope that helps
