I "broke" a terminal

I accidently cat'ed a binary file in one of my VC's and now that VC is totally useless (the normal characters have been replaced with rectangles and stuff which makes it impossible to read anything in it). Is it possible to get it back without rebooting?

Have you tried the reset or clear commands?
