I'm pretty confident this statement is true......after struggling with for about a week now......SWAT doesn't come installed by default in 7.3 as it does in 7.2.
So are the RPMs on the cd??
How do you go about installing it??.....where to start??
Thanks

My Samba server is up and running. I use LinNeighborhood to browse the network and followed the NHF to configure my smb.conf file. I'm running RH 7.3 and everything is working now. Why would you need SWAT now?

SWAT does come on the Red Hat 7.3 CD's. In 7.2, I'm pretty sure they were all grouped together on one CD. In 7.3 I think the Samba related RPMs are more spread out.
If you have a GUI installed, you could use it to search through the CDs with the GnoRPM install tool.
Or you can mount the CDs and search through the RPMS directories for SWAT and install if from the command line.
I don't use SWAT to configure Samba, not that there's anything wrong with using it. However, SWAT provides an excellent help resource on all aspects of using Samba, especially the options that can be used in the smb.conf file.
I like to keep SWAT running on at least one computer on the network. Samba help is then no more than a few mouse clicks away. Much easier than paging through the man pages.

It's there. The package is called samba-swat.

I have the same problem with RH7.3. So Dutch boy, did you find a cure for "no-swat" syndrome?

One could always ftp into redhat's site and cd into the 7.3 directory and ls *swat* to see what the package is.... you could even download it from there.....
if you have samba installed, try using up2date, it might put the latest swat in there for you.

Or grab the 2.2.5 rpm from www.samba.org and use that to upgrade or uninstall the first one and install....
