List all partitions

I just created a new ext2 partition on my Linux hardrive, What command can I use to see if it is being recognized and what partition number has been assigned to it?

dmesg, if you look in your /etc/fstab file, it will tellyou what partitions you are already using. Sort throught the dmesg and find the partition part and see which one it is.
