I have Suse 8.0 loaded on my machine. I just put in a firewire card along with a Speedzter 3 which is a hard drive hot swap. Pretty cool little device for hard drives. How do I get linux to recognize the fire wire card, which I hope allows the drive to be recognized.

Linux does have some Firewire support.

My default kernel has

ieee1394.o ohci1394.o pcilynx.o raw1394.o sbp2.o video1394.o

as the available ieee1394 modules.

I would suggest you try searching Google for Linux ( www.google.com/linux ) for your firewire card to see if it is supported and what modules it uses.
