An incomplete installation of linux i son my hard drive, and I am trying to figure out how to clear the hard drive for a fresh installation. Windows 98 boot disks wont bring up a A: prompt, and a low level format using the hard drive manufacturer's disk wont work either, what should I do?

Is your computer capable of booting from CD-ROM? If so, try to boot from an installation CD (whether it's Linux or Windows).

Maybe your Windows boot disk is corrupt. Check if there is a command.com on it (on a different computer).

If you used Partition Magic or something similar, use their rescue disks (if you made some).

No, a bootable cdrom didn't work either. Is there a linux bootable disk or something that can reload it?

Did you change your bios so you could boot from your CDROM?
