Is anyone willing to help me figure out why I cant install this on RH 7.0? When I do the ./configure I get a message at the end that says something like" checking for r00taxx in -r00t
no r00t?
Darn!!

Does this mean that the configure was unsuccessful? I can do a make and make install but the plugin does not show up in xmms that I can see.

Any help will be much appreciated and this will be one more thing that windows won't be needed for.

Tnx

Just a stab in the dark.. but are you running ./configure as root? If not try it..

Yes I was root when I did the configure. Notice that the error has an "r" followed by two zeroes and then a "t". I don't know if this has special significance or not. Oh well I guess if no one is able to give me a clue, I had best forget this package for now.

Thanks for trying.

Dont give up so easily. I'm not sure how xmms plugins work, but if it makes without an error, then perhaps all you need to do is copy the resulting binary to ~/.xmms/plugins (or somewhere similar)?

Thanks for the advice and encouragemenet. I am a little beat down by this one. I had a five hour session trying to install it last night and I am at work today for at least 4 hours on little sleep. I really want this thing to work, but perhaps being a real newbie, I am taking on too much? I will look into finding whatever binaries it made.(not sure how to do that but I will find out) I will then put them in the xmms plugins directory,(when I find that, hehe) and give it another whirl.
