I'm having problems with my debian potato distro and XFree... Xfree says that I have an "a.out" system and that Xfree doesn't support that. What should I do???

Desprate help needed for a guy who's got a 10 gig hdd and has nothing to do with it! (besides virtual console mode!)

I think you need support for ELF to be able to run x. One option would be to recompile your kernel with Elf support included, as well as a.out.
Just a thought.
But someone else can probably give an easier solution.
