Hayl 09-02-2002, 06:45 PM try them out and decide for yourself. - XMMS - Noatun (KDE) - FreeAmp are a few. bwkaz 09-02-2002, 07:51 PM Also: AlsaPlayer (www.alsaplayer.org) <-- oooh, it's been a while since I've visited their page, looks like an entirely new GUI! Time to update my version! ;) sambeau 09-03-2002, 04:25 AM What about 'headless' mp3 players? I've been considering building an 'in car' mp3 server out of on old laptop and a large hard disk. bwkaz 09-03-2002, 08:30 AM mpg123 (http://www.mpg123.de/) perhaps? It's what I used before I installed X (this is LFS, so X took quite a while to compile...). It probably wouldn't be hard to come up with a script that went through every .mp3 file in a directory (or even, with find, in a set of subdirectories), and ran them all through mpg123. justlinux.com
