Easy Adapter Question

Whenever I boot to Linux it takes forever to bring up my eth0 adapter. eth1 comes up fine when it has a static IP. Also what does it mean when the status of the interface is inactive? They still can connect and ping other things. Whats the deal?

That's odd.... I'm assuming eth0 is using dhcp to get it's ip. How long is a long time.... what kind of connection do you have?

It eventually is ok though... what ip is it getting... internal or external...

After booting up, what does lsmod show, one or two nic modules loaded??

What happens when you switch the connection on the 2 nics, setting eth0 to static and eth1 to dhcp....
