Drake8 firewal blocking root!?

OK, I setup Bastille on drake8, now, I can't do anything that ask's for the root PW. I CAN log on as root, but in user mode, and I try to open a program, it will ask for root PW, I type it in, and nothing. can't even ping a site, get a weird error in console. I understand it's a buggy firewall with drake 8, anyone know a fix??

when you say 'logon' are you physically at the computer, or remote? I cant see how the firewall could affect you if you were right at the computer. Also, the default for most linux systems is that you cant remote login as root, you gotta su.

now I am at the system, and if I am logged in as "normal" user, and try to open say.....mandrake control center, it ask's for the PW , I put it in and nothing, if I open a console to ping a site I get an error <can't remember it I am in WIN right now>
I posted it a few moths ago and someone said it was the firewall that came with drake 8??? Did a search for it but didn't find it...
