i wish to upgrade to the new kernel, but in the most painless way possible.
there's only one thing i need from the new kerenl, sound support and i was wondering if i should just get the new kernel, or using LKMs just put a new sound module right into the running kernel... what would be the best path?
my soundcard is a cmi8330 and the kernel i have now (2.2.17-21mdk) says it supports it, but it doesn't. so i was gonna try the new kernel, see if that works.
