hey everyone

I recently had to reload redhat 7.3 because I bought a new hard drive.

For some reason, when I try to stream any of my favorite shoutcast channels using XMMS, the player keeps "pre-buffering" then giving all visual indications that it's playing but the elapsed time is going almost twice as fast and I hear nothing.

I know my audio is working because I get sound events on KDE for everything else and I can actually play single MP3z using XMMS but my streaming seems to be broken.

Any ideas?

Thanks

KDE uses arts as a sound server. Xmms does not *natively* support connecting to arts. You have to make sure you build in the correct *version* of arts support as well ...

You might want to check if the right output plugin is selected. When I updated XMMS, I needed to go into Preferences -> Audio I/O plugins and make sure the Disk Writer plugin was not selected. XMMS was writing the stream to my disk instead of playing it.
