Hello,
I was trying to do some burning , that didn't work , and now my cd-rom doesn't want to eject ;( ... what can be the problem ? ... and how would I go about ejecting cd-rom without rebooting?
thanks

Is the drive mounted? If so, be sure that no programs are using it and that you are not in the directory that it is mounted in and type:
umount /dev/hdc
where hdc is probably the name of your CDROM device, but it could be something different.

Ahh, try umount. I had this problem with MDK8 I installed it with the highest security settings and the only way I could eject the cdrom, was if I logged in as root. Switched to /mnt and then typed: umount cdrom
That poped out the disk. I'm not sure why I had to do it that way, but I did.

I think, not sure that for cd burning you need SCSI emulation in the kernel.
eject cd - close every window that has info about the cdrom then see above posts

try rebooting, its not that big of a deal. and if u still cant do it get that little peice of metal (should have with your cdrom) and poke the little hole - but avoid that if possible
