1)How do I Play Quake quake 1 on linux I have allready instaled it but I can not find the linux quake files any where online I tried idsoftware but there servers have delted it or something.

2)What is qt & do I need to get it ,I am running Mandrake 8.0 or do I allready have it.

3)What are binares or how ever you spell it.

4)How come I can not get the snes emulator to run.

5)How do I go about installing themes I went to kde.themes.org abd download a couple but so far it was a waste of time cause it will not let me use them.

I have so many questions I am new to Linux and I won't to learn how to use it I am a very quick learner if someone can teach me but I no no one that's why I am asking someone out here to help me.

(I heared Linux was better than windows but so far it's shown me nothing but a headach I really won't to learn how to use Linux and get rid of gay as Winders for Buba Gates so please help me.)

Try linuxgames.com and linuxquake.com
They have details on setting things up.

Settle down and realise that it takes a bit of time to get comfortable with linux, as with anything. You're not going to instantly reach nirvana, perseverance and reading a lot of docs is the key.

I can only help a little as I'm still a Linux newbie myself, but to answer #3: binaries are the compiled programs you run. If you know what an *.exe file is in Windows or MS-DOS, binaries are the same thing. Simply put, a binary is a program.

And just for future reference, it's "want" not "won't". :)

You'll have to elaborate a little more on what your exact problem is. Did you install the program? Have you tried typing "quake" from the command line? If your looking for more downloads for quake, I recall cnet.download.com haveing a lot of linux relatted quake downloads

Again, for #4, you have to give more information. Was it an emulator designed to run under linux? What emulator? Any error messages?

You probably downloaded them in some .zip format. What you need to do is exatract them into your theme directory. Try /home/username/.kde/share/apps/kthemengr/Themes

Hopefully some of that will help. Try reading some of the NHFs. Like Basic Command line. Linux will give you a headache for a little while. In order to realy enjoy it, you have to dig down and get your hands dirty, and read. I'm by no means an expert but if you want to talk about linux ICQ me: 100155171
