I'm new to linux and i just finished installing Mandrake Linux 8.2. I was having problems booting before so someone told me to install everything which i did. After installation and rebooting it asked for a floopy which i put in and it took me right back to the installation page. Did i do something wrong? Ive tried everything and it just wont work so plz help.
Thanks :)

Perhaps it was asking for the boot floppy disk that you made during install (I hope you made one) rather than an installation floppy disk which you apparently inserted.

I remeber that it went through the install process and there was a thing for making a boot floopy but it didnt ask for a floppy

Will it boot with no floppy or cd in the drive? If not, re-read the installation proceedure and make a boot floppy on the next install in case you screw up somehow. Have a Windows boot floppy handy as well if you dual boot so you can recover the mbr for Windows.
If it will boot, you're ready to start.
