I have a system with Windows XP on disk 1, Linux on disk 2. The system has an internal PCI, 56K Copper modem.
On the Linux side I have Mandrake 8.2 installed. The modem is configured as /dev/ttyS0, I did not change any of the other kppp configuration values.
When I attempt to connect using kppp I get a message "Modem ready" then I get "Sorry, the modem does not respond."
On the XP side the modem works fine, I can browse the web.
So, what could be the problem?
