Captain Penguin 08-05-2001, 04:30 PM X doesn't support Kyro II as far as I know. a friend of mine had to scrap his K2 and put in his old geforce2, because the kyro ii refused to work in X. No driver support apparantly.. although you might be able to get a basic SVGA server to work, (boring!) Molecule Man 08-05-2001, 05:20 PM The guy that was maintaining the linux drivers for the Kyro2 is no longer with PowerVR. The future looks pretty spotty for Linux support. SkyNet 08-05-2001, 05:56 PM Could you tell me if the guy that was maintaing the Kyro II drivers for Linux had released any? I'm having to make a choice between a GeForce 2 MX 400 64 and the Kyro II and right now for gaming purposes the Kyro II beats out the GeForce. However I also use Linux and I need to get a video card that will work in this operating system as well. All I need in Linux is 2d support so if I can get that I'd be happy. Malakin 08-05-2001, 10:29 PM I'd go for the geforce 2 mx, I can pick one up for $85CND (about $54USD) and you'll definitely have good support in both win2k, linux and future releases. pricewatch lists the kyro 2's as almost twice the price of a gf 2mx, all the major places I order parts from don't even have kyro 2's listed anymore although they did, probably a reason for this. justlinux.com
