Hello,
I have a ctx laptop running windows 95 @155 mhz. It has a 1 gig HDD and a cd and floppy. I was wondering what linux distrobution would work best for me and my system.
P.s. it is running phoenix BIos.
P.P.S I have 2 pc cards. 1.Eigercom 56k fax/modem 2.3com EtherLink III LAN pc card for 10BASE-T and Coax wich i was wondering if they would be compatable.
Thnx
For the laptop, try:

As for the cards, you should check the Hardware Compatibility Lists on the support sites of the various Linux distros, as different distros may or may not officially support a given piece of hardware.
Oh, by the way- welcome to LNO!

thns for the site :) I dont think red hat will work though considering it needs 1.5 gigs and my comp is 1 gig so i need a 1/2 gig distro if that is possible ..thnx again
Unfortunately, most of the newer distros do recommend a fair amount of space. However, you can always do a custom installation to minimize the amount of bloat that gets installed. After all, you probably don't need 3 desktop environments, 14 word processors, 5 web browsers, and 50 FTP clients, do you?
;)
Alternately, you could look at some of the "mini" Linux distros such as Peanut Linux (http://www.ibiblio.org/peanut/), or see if you can get your hands on a slightly older Linux version; just like That Other OS, newer versions of Linux tend to have more bloat.

Have a look through http://old.lwn.net/Distributions/ to see what distro is best suited to your hardware specs.
