I know this is a stupid question, So i'm expecting a pretty stupid answer. So, I've been running Red Hat 7.1 for awhile now, and my modem doesn't work. And i think the problem is because i have a lucent WIN MODEM. So i was just wondering if i should by a real modem or somehow tinker with with one....

Chi said he THINKS he ha a winmodem...
(just becuase there ain't no official drivers, and it doesn't work, doesn't mean it's a winmodem...)

Chi, what's the name of your modem and the company who made it?

The Lucent drivers available at www.linmodems.org should work.
