how do i get linux to recognize my nic? it is a speadstream 1020 using the rtl8139c chip. the NHF's didn't help, and all the info i could find in the forms didn't help I'm running redhat 7.2 (if that matters) for the time being

common problem... pnp OS in bios should be DISABLED.

yes i asked before, the reply didn't help, and no more replies were being made. PNP os is disabled in BIOS, always has been always will be

not sure, i've tried the module for rtl8139 and rtl8129, as well as some of the other generic ones (i.e. tulip) to no avail
