I have compilied Kernel with all ppp otions as modules and built in. Have then compilied them with ppp_generic and async. Well any way I compilie 2.4.0 it dosent work. I have Slackware 7.1. Dose anyone have any ideas about this?

they changed the modutils on us and that's prolly why it's not working for you. I still have to get the new packages yet so I don't know where to get the new modutils

I compiled ppp support directly into the kernel, and USB too -it worked for me; it seems to take an act of god to get some modules working with 2.4
I patched the kernel and installed all the latest modutils in Mandrake 7.2 and still some modules just will not load.
?Which brings me to my next question; Why in the 4ell doesn't Mandrake 7.2 (Complete) include the f$cking "patch" command? -is MDK lame or is it just me? I had to pull the patch rpm from my copy of RH7.

If your compiling ppp support as modules for linux-2.4.0, then the readme/install files for ppp-2.4.0 have some information YOU WILL NEED (re - etc/modules.conf).
